Mandatory Desexing at point of sale in Queensland.

Overpopulation of cats and dogs in the state of Queensland have reached critical, resulting in animal shelters and re-homing programs to reach capacity. With most of these shelters unable to take in any more animals, unwanted litters are often abandoned, or even killed by their owners, because they don't want to take responsibility.

The solution is simple, really, and yet, is often not implemented. Desexing an animal will stop it from reproducing, and, as such, will save people the trouble of getting rid of the litter that will inevitably be produced. Makes sense, right?

But, for some people, that isn't enough reason to desex their pet, so perhaps enforcing something that makes these people responsible for the animals in their care might just do the job.
Let's make the desexing of all pets mandatory at point of sale. Reduce the overpopulation, and the cruelty that occurs with it.
