With our village looking at a mountain of debt, it is unbelievably selfish that our own trustees, elected to represent the citizens of Greenport, allow tax payers to fund their health insurance for working less than 20 hours a month. In addition to being paid $11,600 a year the trustees receive a full family benefit package valued at $22,000. While this administration tries to find it within their budget for things that actually benefit the community it is time for a resolution to stop this greed! Tell our elected officials that they were elected to act in the best interest of the people, not themselves!
