IKEA: Go Green and Stop Printing Your Catalogues!

IKEA claims to be committed to sustainably harvesting forest for its furniture -- so why does the company still print and distribute 200 million paper catalogues each year? At a massive 300 pages each, these catalogues are responsible for the destruction of nearly 3 million trees a year.

While the company does use farmed wood for its catalogues, rather than harming old-growth forests, only about 10-20% of the paper used is from recycled sources. Even if IKEA replants the trees used for paper, why can't the company simply switch to a digital catalogue? We're in the 21st century - surely all of IKEA's customers have access to a computer and can open a PDF.

Please sign the petition asking IKEA to stop destroying forests to print their product catalogues!

I have created this petition and near 25k person agreed with me that a businnes like Ikea that is innovative and world wide know and claiming to be green would consider my idea to stop producing their print catalogue and saving a lot of trees, this would be also a very good way to cut some cost for you.

Best regards

Daniele
