When Rep. Eric Swalwell was credibly accused of sexual misconduct by four former staffers, the response from Democrats was unanimous and fervent: get out of the governor's race now.
Cynically, Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna announced she'd be introducing a bill to expel Swalwell from Congress…but had not done so for fellow Republican Rep. Tony Gonzales, whose former staffer committed suicide after he pressured her into sex, or Rep. Corey Mills, who physically abused his girlfriend.
We must send a clear message: none of this is okay. Swalwell, Mills, Gonzales — all of them need to be expelled from Congress immediately. Violence against women cannot be tolerated from our elected representatives.
