Keep Downeast Correctional Facility Open

    We, the undersigned support LD 1704, a bill making its way through the Maine Legislature, that will keep the Downeast Correctional Facility open through June 30, 2019. LD 1704, sponsored by State Rep. Will Tuell (R-East Machias) also calls upon policymakers to develop a long term plan for the facility, and stipulates that the prison can not be closed without the consent of the Legislature.

    We have gotten over 300 signatures in one day. That is great, but let's keep it up! Please share this petition with your friends on social media, and tune in to WVOM 103.9 tomorrow morning at 7:30 AM as I discuss the prison with George Hale & Ric Tyler!
