The city of Dieppe will vote on January 12th 2015 whether to rezone a large residential area on Yvonne Street/Valmont Crescent to commercial. The plan is to have a 58,000 sq ft building in our backyard! Here are a few of the main reasons we are against this and why you should sign this petition:
1. There is a beautiful new kids park on Yvonne Street. The proposed plan for commercial property will be directly across the street from the park! leading in increased traffic and potential danger to our children!
2. This is the gorgeous Fox Creek area, with it's beautiful golf course. We see all sorts of wildlife in our backyard! We do not want to commercialize this wonderfully wooden area and also reduce the value of our homes!
3. There are already numerous existing commercial properties in Dieppe where no rezoning would be necessary (for example the Coop and Jean Coutu area on Dieppe Boulevard). Use these existing properties!!
