This is an open letter to President Biden, please sign too:
Dear President Biden.
I voted for you last election. In fact, I have virtually always voted for Democrats. Ex-president Donald Trump is a threat to Democracy, the environment, and the well-being of humanity. His actions are both reckless and criminal. To keep him out of office is of utmost importance. But I cannon vote for you if you continue to support Israel. The bombing of Gaza is killing untold numbers of innocent men, women and children. If Israel continues in this, the United States should consider severing all ties. At the very least, no weapons, or other aid, should continue.
My father fought against the Nazis in WWII. He participated in freeing one of the concentration camps. The suffering, the conditions, the appearance of the prisoners so horrified him that he was never able to forget. He always strongly supported Israel and Jews. He loved books and brought home many wonderful books to my sisters and me. Among these were books written by Jews - novels, mysteries and books about WWII. We developed much sympathy towards Israel and the Jewish people.
Now the situation has drastically changed. Whatever the reasoning, the bombings, which seemed designed to eradicate an entire community, are intolerable. You are in a position of influence with Israel. Unless you take strong action, you make our country complicate in genocide. Please! Please! Please! do all in your power to end this terrible situation. Otherwise I cannot vote for you, or I, too, would be complicate in genocide.
