Philadelphia Is Rotting While Its Mayor Refuses to Pay Essential Workers Fairly. Demand Justice!

As trash piles up on street corners and temperatures soar, Philadelphia's municipal workers are still out on strike. These essential workers, who include sanitation crews and emergency dispatchers, are not asking for the moon. They're asking for fair wages, better healthcare, and the dignity they've more than earned. So far, Mayor Cherelle Parker's administration has refused to meet them halfway.

Let's be clear: Philadelphia cannot function without these workers. They keep the streets clean. They respond to emergencies. They are the backbone of the city. Watching their pleas be ignored while garbage piles up and city events go on as planned is an insult to every worker and resident.

Sign the petition to demand Mayor Parker meet AFSCME DC 33's demands and give Philadelphia's workers the fair contract they deserve!

The strike, now more than a week old, has reached a critical point. Workers have been hit by cars while picketing. Residents are dumping trash at temporary sites that are already overflowing.

Meanwhile, city leaders keep posturing with numbers that don't reflect the reality on the ground. Mayor Parker's claims of a 13% raise are misleading – union leaders say that number includes past agreements, not what's currently on offer. These workers deserve real increases that reflect the rising cost of living and the importance of their labor.

Stand with the striking workers. We demand Mayor Parker return to the table and sign a fair contract.

Sign the petition now to demand justice and dignity for the workers who keep Philly moving.
