Please help promote JUSTICE within a STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS for survivors of child sexual abuse ~ State laws restrict action against a perpetrator in varying number of years. A victim of child abuse lives with mental illness, post-traumamatic stress like war veterans and often physical problems due to stress for the rest of their life. A victim needs medical attention, sometimes long term, as well as other forms of aid and support. Holding a perpetrator to the same time period for the damage they cause is FAIR. Please sign my petition to promote JUSTICE within a STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS for child abuse survivors. Give victims a chance to become survivors.
An example, in Tennessee, the statute of limitations for child sexual abuse is currently considered a tort - one year on turning 18 years of age. One year is not enough time for a victim to decide what action, if any, they want to take. This petition started up for my home state, now ultimately, all states are targeted for this action by the people.
