We are a small group of students working on a government and civics project focused on the immigration court backlog and how it affects individuals and families in our community. Many people facing immigration cases are forced to wait months or even years for a decision, leaving families in uncertainty and stress. This backlog can impact people's ability to work, stay with their loved ones, and feel secure about their future. To better understand how our community feels about this issue, we created a petition to gather support and awareness. Congressman Brad Schneider is a representative who can work on the funding decisions of how immigration cases are processed. He's shown interest in reformation in immigration court's he's shown effort to modernize the system and make it more accessible. Our proposal is to increase the distribution of green card chaos directly addresses on of the root causes of backloging: limited legal pathways creating bottleneck/dead end. As a federal policy maker, Schnieder is in a position to support or introuduce legislation that could expand these caps .
