Everyone who wants to stop the ceaseless expenditure of lives and treasure in the far corners of the Earth should sign this petition. The re-institution of the draft (with no deferments) would expose all U.S. citizens, including their children and their grandchildren to the perils of these endless wars. No longer would wars be fought with “other people’s children”. It would make politicians and the public much less likely to support constant, propagandized military adventures into foreign lands that are bleeding us dry both physically and financially. Where are all the "Patriots" and "Peaceniks of the 60s"? I truly thought this petition would be flooded with signatures. I guess I was foolish not to recognize the hypocrisy this petition would expose!
