Common Core was launched in 2009, by state leaders. It's claim was to prepare students for a 21st century global economy, but has nonetheless failed. It's a system revolved around testing, and prioritization of sciences over the humanities. It's made school about passing, instead of learning. We lag in educational standards, compared to nations, such as Finland, where students talents are nurtured, no subject is prioritized. Learning is learning, and testing isn't teaching. State legislatures and commissioners, governors, and lobbyist pushed for, and made common core. People who have never taught, are changing the way we learn, for the worse. Common Core is like poison for a students motivation, and way of learning. Place an end in common core, for the fate of the students, our future workforce, and our teachers.
