Demand Justice for Brooklyn Worker Fired for Opposing Racism

When an employee at Cablevision used racially insensitive language on social media, management gave her a slap on the wrist. Shortly after, Cablevision expanded her responsibilities.

When Jerome Thompson registered a complaint in a closed-door meeting about Cablevision's unfair treatment of the Brooklyn workers and union-busting, referencing the historical injustice of slavery, he was fired.

The difference? Jerome Thompson is pro-union and active in the fight to bargain fairly with his employer for better wages and working conditions.

Three years ago, Jerome began organizing to build a union at Cablevision. Workers voted overwhelmingly to join the Communications Workers of America. Instead of good-faith bargaining, James Dolan and Cablevision have met them with intimidation and harassment and the illegal firing of 22 workers.

Take action today to pressure Cablevision to rehire Jerome Thompson, stop using intimidation tactics, and bargain fairly with CWA for a fair contract.
