Stand With Families Living With Bleeding Disorders

People with inheritable bleeding disorders have blood that does not clot properly. Three million Americans live with bleeding disorders that can cause spontaneous bleeding into muscles and joints, extended bleeding after injury and surgery, and can be life-threatening if not treated effectively. While there is treatment, there is no cure.

Without access to comprehensive healthcare, people with bleeding disorders can't receive the specialized treatment they need to live healthy, productive lives. Health care changes must maintain key patient protections, such as the elimination of lifetime caps and pre-existing conditions discrimination policies, and maintaining the Medicaid expansion included in the Affordable Care Act. The existence of these protections could be the difference between life and death.

In honor of Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month, sign your name to join NHF and fight to protect access to quality healthcare for people with bleeding disorders!
