Give everyone a fair shot at the American Dream

Working families are falling further and further behind. 100 percent of the income growth since 1980 has gone to the top 10 percent of wealthy Americans. For most workers, real wages - that is, what we take home after inflation have steadily declined. Special interests have rigged the system so that the vast majority of wealth flows to the richest 1 percent of Americans – this rising level of income inequality is devastating working families. We must level the playing field, grow the middle class, and give everyone an opportunity at the American Dream.

We need policies that actually help working people. That means paid family leave, so parents can afford to take time off to welcome a new child into their family. It means debt-free college, so no student starts their career already deeply in the hole. It means ensuring every worker doesn't just make a minimum wage, but a living wage and that everyone gets access to retirement plans.

Converting these ideas into law is going to require a groundswell of support from working families across Massachusetts. Sign the petition and demonstrate to the powers that be that their constituents want a fair shot.
