As global population swells toward 10 billion by 2050, we face a future of food and water scarcity, increased pollution, rising temperatures and more IF we don't make serious changes.
The truth is we have just 10 years
to change course and prevent a devastating future. We must act now to save our planet and:
- Ramp up clean energy — Shift 85 percent of the world's energy to non-fossil fuel sources. And use already converted land for new solar and wind development to lessen the impact on habitat.
- More food, smaller footprint — Meet future food demands on less land. Improve placement of crops and adopt more sustainable farming practices that will increase productivity, reduce soil erosion and improve water quality.
- Zero overfishing — More than 90 percent of fisheries today are either already depleted or approaching decline. New technology to capture data about fish populations, catch size and more should drive fishery management for zero overfishing.
Stand with The Nature Conservancy as we call on leaders at all levels of government to support science-backed solutions that hold the key to a more sustainable future.
Together, we can build a more hopeful tomorrow for our planet. But there's no time to waste.
Take the Pledge: Stand Up for a More Sustainable Future
