Congress: Return to Work to Address Environmental Problems!

Wilderness preservation, wildlife protection, watershed restoration and wildland firefighter safety are just a few of the topics of bills that Senator Tom Coburn prevented from getting through Congress before it recessed.

But these environmental protection acts are too crucial to ignore! Senator Coburn persistently opposes these bills because he says they will hurt the oil and gas industries - but he is ignoring the peril to our planet and its inhabitants. Frustrated with Coburn's stalling, senators have combined the measures into a single wilderness amendment bill, the Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2008.

The Senate is considering coming back after the election for a lame-duck session to vote on this important bill and address our troubled economy, but many senators are reluctant to return to work. Tell your senator: The environment is important to me, so please return to session to pass the Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2008!
Dear Senator,

I urge you to return for a lame-duck session to pass the Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2008 (S. 3213). Senator Tom Coburn's holds have prevented many crucial environmental protection laws from coming to a vote, but these laws are critical for the future of our planet and its inhabitants.

The omnibus bill includes national wilderness preservation, watershed restoration and enhancement, wild land firefighter safety and river wildlife protection - all critical pieces of legislation that are important to me.

I am frustrated that these measures have been stalled in Congress due to a single opponent. Please return for a lame duck session to pass S. 3213.
