Ask San Francisco Muni to Stop Kicking Service Pit Bulls off Public Transit!

In early November 2016, I was kicked off a San Francisco cable car for having my service pit bull, Rosie, with me. The driver stated he did not feel safe, despite the fact that Rosie is well-behaved and service dogs are allowed on cable cars.

Please sign my petition to ask SFMTA to train all of its drivers on the rules surrounding service animals and to stop kicking them off public transit.

In SF, there is a new rule that service dogs are allowed to ride on cable cars on their owners' lap while sitting on the exterior of the car. This is exactly what I was doing when I was asked to get off the car.

And this isn't the first time my pit bull and I have been asked to leave public transit, despite the fact that we were following all rules - it happens frequently, and I've filed multiple complaints with the city. I've even been taken away in handcuffs (though I've never actually had charges filed, because I have done nothing wrong!)

Muni has sent me apologies in the past, but they need to do more. If I'm being harassed this much for having my service dog with me on public transit I'm sure other people are having issues, too. I even carry papers spelling out the rules and the fact that Rosie is a service animal and I am still frequently asked to leave. Even if she was an emotional support animal, she would still have the same protections.

Please sign my petition to ask SFMTA to train all of its drivers on the rules surrounding service animals and to stop kicking them off public transit.
