Tell Congress: Protect NEPA
The Trump administration is moving to roll back the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). NEPA ensures that government agencies undertake a thorough, community-based review process that considers the public health and environmental impacts of constructions projects before they take place. We must speak out against these attacks on NEPA because they undermine one of our most important tools to fight against environmental racism.
Congress has the power to stop the Trump administration's attempts to undermine this critical safeguard. Will you join other LCV supporters/members throughout the country and urge your members of Congress to protect NEPA?

I urge you to protect the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) from Trump's dangerous attacks. NEPA ensures that our communities have a say in major federal decisions that affect our health and safety. Communities of color are already disproportionately impacted by environmental challenges and NEPA is one of the strongest tools we have to overcome this environmental racism. As NEPA reviews are often the only way for people to voice their concerns about the consequences federal projects will have on their communities and demonstrate how local expertise can improve them, we need these laws in place to ensure most impacted communities have a voice in the process. Our communities are safer and healthier because of NEPA.
The Trump administration's attack on NEPA is an attack on our ability to keep our communities safe and healthy. As a member of Congress, it is in your power to protect us from hasty decision-making that puts our communities at great risk. Protect our voice and protect our environment – protect NEPA.
