Stop Duke University's Cruel, Invasive, Senseless Primate Experimentation

"Atrocities are not less atrocities when they occur in laboratories and are called medical research."
- George Bernard Shaw

We, the undersigned, ask that Duke University stop the invasive primate experiments conducted by Dr. Michael Platt in the Department of Neurobiology’s Center for Cognitive Neuroscience.  These studies (which involve surgically inserting metal screws into the skulls of primates so that they can be bolted into primate restraint chairs) are extremely cruel, highly invasive, and are not leading to cures for human illnesses.  We ask that our tax money be spent on relevant, non-invasive human studies such as imaging, cellular, human microdosing, clinical, genetic, emotional, epidemiological and socioeconomic studies.
