I Support Cannabis and Public Proposal 700000 for Florida's 2018 Ballot.

The Florida Constitution Revision Commission is presently considering publicly proposed Constitutional Amendments for Florida's 2018 ballot. So far, they've neglected consideration of any Pro-Cannabis proposals, despite the importance of the issue and the multiple Pro-Cannabis proposals that were submitted. Unfortunately for Floridians, none of the various public proposals under the CRC's consideration can come close to providing the potential benefits to our citizens and communities as advancing the single issue of Cannabis Rights.

Civil Liberties, Healthcare, Criminal Justice, our Economy, and Environment are all negatively impacted and severely impaired because we deny Adults a Right to Cannabis. No doubt, every day, Florida's Cannabis laws are harming the lives of countless Floridians and visitors alike. The Bill of Rights Committee's failure to consider such an important issue as our Adult Right to Cannabis is very concerning to many of my fellow Floridians and me.

The Florida Constitution Revision Commission has the real opportunity to positively affect the lives of millions of Floridians by advancing a single proposal. Public Proposal 700000 best addresses the issues as mentioned above and should be revived and placed on the 2018 ballot, putting the question before Florida's voters to approve or reject. The stakes are high, surviving or even preventing cancer and other serious health issues. Safer neighborhoods, proper allocation of law enforcement's precious resources to fight real crime, lessening our prison population. Both job creation & retention, farmers growing profitable crops, and a cleaner healthier environment for our children are just a few of the benefits our people and communities will enjoy after passing PUB 700000.

Honorable Commissioners of the 2017-18 Florida Constitution Revision Commission, we, the signers of this petition urge each of you to set aside any personal feelings or bias concerning Cannabis and vote to approve PUB 700000 for the 2018 Ballot.

All people in the State of Florida twenty-one years of age and older shall have the right to possession, use, and cultivation of Cannabis. This RIGHT shall not be infringed except that the transfer of Cannabis by purchase or sale may be regulated as necessary to ensure public health and safety.

"Cannabis" in this section is defined as ALL parts of any plant of the genus Cannabis, whether growing or not, and the seeds thereof; the resin extracted from any part of the plant; every compound, manufacture, salt, derivative, mixture, or preparation of the plant or its seeds or resin.

***"Possession" in this section is defined as the state of having, owning, or controlling cannabis; actual or constructive; whether sole or joint possession; including the joint control with another / others. 

***"Use" in this section is defined as any application, ingestion, consumption, or inhalation. Including but not limited to eating, drinking, vaporizing, and smoking.

***"Cultivation" in this section is defined as the planting, tending, improving, or harvesting of crops or plants; the preparation of ground to promote their growth. 

The provisions of this section are severable, and if any clause or sentence of this measure, or an application thereof, is adjudged invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, other provisions shall continue to be in effect to the fullest extent possible.
