Demand the USDA Stop Hiding Animal Abuse

In February 2017, our ability to monitor the cruel dog-breeding facilities known as "puppy mills" took a big hit. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) removed inspection reports and other information about thousands of commercial dog breeders from its website.

This information is vital in our efforts to monitor puppy mills and to help the animals who languish in them year after year. These reports used to be available to anyone with internet access, and suddenly they were gone.

The Freedom of Information Act should ensure public access to these records, but our requests have been answered with useless, heavily redacted reports — or silence.

The ASPCA has filed two federal lawsuits against the USDA. Why is it protecting this cruel industry?
