Horses Are Forced to Run Through Flames - Urge the Spanish Government to Ban the Luminarias Race!

A recent Express report shed light on a Spanish ritual that puts horses in terrifying conditions.

Horses are forced to run through flames during the Catholic feast of Saint Anthony celebrations in San Bartolome de Pinares. Called the Luminarias race, this 500 year-old tradition is supposed to purify the horses and keep them safe.

However, animal rights groups are calling for the end of this ritual as it terrifies the horses, with approximately 100 horses being forced though fire.

This outdated ritual is animal cruelty, and should not be tolerated. Will you join me in urging the Spanish government to ban this cruel practice?

Dear Prime Minister Brey,

I am deeply concerned about the Luminarias race in San Bartolome de Pinares.

This ritual is outdated and cruel, as terrified horses are forced to run through flames and smoke.

Several animal rights groups have called for the end of this ritual, and I urge you to consider banning this cruel practice.
