Pledge your support for Canada's kids at risk during this critical time

Right now, youth who have "aged out" of the child welfare system are struggling.

Some of them are as young as 18 — still kids — without the supports most of their peers have. Once they transition out of foster care, they're left to pay for a roof over their heads, groceries and other basic necessities all on their own. It's hard to imagine, but they don't have the financial or nurturing, emotional support of a permanent family.

COVID-19 has made their situations even more precarious. Its impact has been devastating, leading to:

  • Sudden unemployment, and food and housing insecurity for many young people already living at or below the poverty line.
  • Heightened anxiety, loneliness and fear, exacerbated by underlying mental health issues stemming from childhood abuse.

"We age out into poverty and this whole pandemic is heightening triggers of childhood trauma on top of financial and emotional tolls." – CHEYANNE, former youth in care

This is not okay.

Sign the pledge and join the movement of over 12,000 Canadians united in standing up for kids.

As an ally, you will:

  • Show Canada's young people in vulnerable situations they're not alone
  • Tell them they deserve to have the same supports and opportunities that most of their peers have
  • Give them hope at a time when they need it most.

Stand up for kids today.
