It Is Time That The Government Allows People Who Use Food Stamps (SNAP) to Purchase Hot Food With Their Benefits

To date People who use SNAP (Food Stamps) are subjected to an outdated law that does not permit them to purchase Hot prepared foods with their benefits because it is believed that they will not buy healthy nutritional food. So, the only prepared foods they are allowed to buy are cold foods from a salad bar and this is not right since when this law was put into place they did not consider that some people are not able to cook because they either do not have a kitchen, stove, not even a hot plate to cook with. Perhaps they live in a shelter or have a disability and are not able to cook for themselves and do not have anyone to help them. Please add your name to this petition and Demand that the government abolish this law and allow people who Receive Food Stamps (SNAP) Benefits to purchase hot prepared foods. Doing this will promote good health and decrease the cost of health insurance since they will not have to purchase non nutritional and cold food. People receiving these benefits deserve the same respect as people who are able to pay for their food via cash or credit and to have a law that does not allow them to purchase hot prepared foods is simply degrading, disrespectful, and insulting especially since most of the people who are receiving these benefits were at one time working and have just fallen on hard times
