Stand Up For Public Broadcasting!

The challenges America faces today are more complex and challenging than ever. But even as our world becomes more difficult to navigate, our media has become increasingly sensational and profit-driven.
Even more troubling: Elected officials in Washington are considering unprecedented cuts in federal funding for public broadcasting, one of the last sources of quality, intelligent programming.
Millions of people in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut watch public television daily for programs that can't be found anywhere else. From PBS NewsHour to Sesame Street to a tremendous variety of new programs, THIRTEEN, the region's flagship station, is expanding its in-depth programming even as commercial news outlets cut content and grow more reliant on corporate support.
In our changing world we need equal access to information more than ever. Sign the pledge and stand up for public television. Let Washington know this is a vital service we in the New York tri-state area can't afford to lose.
