Did you know Australia has the worst rate of mammal extinctions of any developed country in the world? In just over 200 years we have lost 30 species of precious native mammals — including the iconic Tasmanian Tiger. Scientists estimate that a further 133 Australian mammals are now at risk of disappearing forever.

Bush Heritage is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to protecting the future of Australia's unique land, water and wildlife — including vulnerable species like the endangered northern quoll.

Through a combination of land ownership and partnering with others, we provide native Australian plants and wildlife with millions of hectares of healthy habitat. Our nature reserves alone provide vital sanctuary for 14% of Australia's threatened mammals.
