Thank PMMC for Saving Sea Lion Pups!

For the past few months, starving and emaciated sea lion pups have been beaching themselves all along the Pacific Coast.

Weather phenomena such as El Nino have changed sea temperatures so much that sea lions' food sources (squid, hake, herring and anchovies) are moving to cooler waters.

Unable to find food and not having the fat stores that older sea lions do, these pups are beaching themselves, starving to the point of digesting their muscle as protein.

The Pacific Marine Mammal Center picks up these animals and rehabilitates them - an enormously challenging task at this stage of starvation. The pups must be started on a liquid diet and can take as long as six months to fully rehabilitate and be released back into the ocean.
This dedicated organization is doing so much for these creatures. Please send a letter of thanks for their rehabilitation of sea lion pups.
