Tell the Senate: Do not repeal the Affordable Care Act

This month the House of Representatives voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Now, its fate is in the Senate's hands. If they pass a repeal, it would push health care out of reach for millions of people.

If the House version is any indication, such a proposal would hit low-income women especially hard. For example, it denies people insured through Medicaid the ability to receive reproductive health care at Planned Parenthood.

It also creates serious obstacles for mothers of newborns by eliminating guaranteed coverage for maternity care, forcing new mothers on Medicaid to find work as soon as 60 days after giving birth, and removing protections for people with pre-existing conditions, such as a C-section, trying to access affordable coverage.

A repeal would threaten preventive health care, contraceptive services, and insurance coverage of abortion care.

We cannot allow Congress to drag us backward and put our access to reproductive health care at risk. It's time to make our voices heard.

The Center for Reproductive Rights is calling on the Senate not to deny millions of women access to essential health care. Add your name: Tell the Senate not to repeal the ACA.
