The EPA is proposing to gut life-saving clean car and truck standards, and even revoke its own authority to fight climate pollution. If these rollbacks go through, Americans will face dirtier air, higher fuel costs, and more dangerous climate disasters.
The EPA's own science shows that stronger standards save lives, cut climate pollution, and protect public health. Repealing them will increase asthma attacks, worsen heart and lung disease, and lock in decades of climate damage.

We, the undersigned, write to express our strong opposition to the proposals to rescind the endangerment finding and revoke rules to reduce pollution from cars and trucks.
Both the existing EPA standards to reduce pollution from cars and trucks and the EPA's 2009 endangerment finding were based on overwhelming scientific evidence. The EPA in 2009 defined a suite of six long-lived greenhouse gases as "air pollution" that represents a danger to the health and welfare of current and future generations. This finding gave EPA the authority and mandate to reduce climate pollution, leading to the emissions standards for cleaner cars and trucks.
Repealing the endangerment finding and revoking the clean vehicles rules will create more pollution and lock in more damage to our air and climate in the future.
Revoking life-saving clean air standards that slash auto pollution will allow automakers to make cars and trucks that guzzle more gas and pollute more, leading to increased illness and death.
We urge you to reject these dangerous proposals and protect the current EPA standards that save oil, save consumers money at the pump, and combat global warming. If these critical safeguards are abandoned, the result will be to worsen heart and lung disease, sicken kids with asthma, and increase deadly wildfires, storms, and floods. Please consider the health and well-being of our environment and the generations to come.
