For more than a decade, Donald Trump has been tearing our country apart, putting wildly unqualified people in charge of critical departments, embracing policies championed by deranged idiots, and transforming America at warp speed into a monument to stupidity.
And Congressional Republicans haven't done a damn thing to stop him.
They kissed his ass. They pretended he wasn't a blithering idiot. They cheered him like drunken monkeys. And they stood by with dopey, fawning grins while he said and did horrific things.
They were more interested in appealing to Trump's idiot base, than in telling the truth. So these so-called "leaders" didn't lead. They became Trump's rubber stamp and let him do all kinds of incredibly stupid and dangerous things.
But with Trump's approval rate crashing ($7 gas and stupid wars will do that), he's become a massive liability, and Republicans in even the reddest areas are running away from him. They are ducking his events, distancing themselves from his chaos, and doing everything they can to emulate Sir Robin's Minstrels.
Don't Let Them Get Away With It
They had years to speak up. They had years to stop him. They chose Trump.
Now they can leave, go far away, and take their buckets of bullshit with them.
