We all want our great-grandchildren to inherit a livable planet. We know that it is impossible to continue to consume resources faster than the Earth can produce them. We are willing to do what it takes to change the world in a positive manner.
We know that it is impossible to continue to consume oil at the rate we now do. We are committed to make tough choices to preserve a livable world for our progeny. Therefore, we the undersigned pledge to find ways to get around without using cars that burn petroleum. We will walk and bicycle. When necessary, we will use public transit such as buses and trains. We urge you to stop subsidizing cars and to plan for a world without them, because that is the only future that will work. Thank you.
