I am a
Food Network fan. I am also a part of a huge population living day-to-day with a "special diet".
The Food Network has come a long way in the past few years.
It's huge. And now they have a responsibility to their diverse audience to
represent all types of diets in their programming. I believe it is not enough to simply feature vegetarian, 'healthy' or 'green' themed shows once in a while. There is an enormous population of kids and adults who live with a
"special diet" either by choice or by health necessity: (
vegan, gluten-free, vegetarian, raw, organic, diabetes, locavore, kosher, dairy-free, low-fat, low-sodium and more!)
Upon gaining sufficient signatures, this petition will be sent to the Food Network, (Scripps). Let your voice be heard and take a moment to sign!
For more info on how to get involved, see my blog:
Healthy. Happy. Life.I think the Food Network should invest more air-time in a show or shows that discuss foods that represent "special diets" including:
vegetarian
raw
gluten-free
vegan
diabetic
low-fat
low-sodium
kosher
locavore
green
organic
dairy-free
and more!
Kids and adults who live everyday with special diets are also Food Network fans! I hope you will take my voice into consideration.
