Save Sierra Nevada Bighorn Sheep

Sierra Nevada bighorn sheep live on steep,precipitous terrain located almost exclusively on public lands in Inyo & Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest,Sequoia-Kings Canyon and Yosemite National Park.
They were listed as endangered in 1999,when about 125 remained.Now there are more than 300.
This summer domestic sheep are scheduled to graze on lands that are near the bighorn sheep habitat.
The risk of domestic sheep pneumonia being transmitted to bighorn sheep is high and is FATAL to the bighorn.They have just started to recover from the brink of extinction and we need to help them stay that way.
Together we can urge BLM and the U.S. Forest Service to close the 5 areas that are vital to the survival of the Sierra Nevada Bighorn Sheep.
We the undersigned urge you to end domestic sheep grazing on five grazing areas: the Cameron Canyon, Tamarack and Rickey (south) allotments on the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest and the Green Creek and Dog Creek allotments on Bureau of Land Management-administered lands in the Bishop Field Office. Please act now to prevent a disaster by closing these five grazing allotments that pose the highest risk to survival of the endangered Sierra Nevada bighorn sheep.
