The South Building of Carleton Village Public School (located at 2054 Davenport Road) is a structure of architectural and historical significance and an important community landmark.
The Toronto Police Service is in the process of acquiring the property from the Toronto District School Board and intends to build a new police station on the site. The Police Service has made no guarantees that it will preserve the historic school building.
The City of Toronto Planning Division has recommended designating the property under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act. The final decision on designation will be made by Toronto City Council.
