Update Circulating US Coins

I propose we commission a new set of updated coinage to circulate for the 21st century.Allowing Americans the chance to re-design out pocket change and vote on the best design.
If you support this movement please write a letter to your local congress representativeJust like this one: Dear Congresswoman Giffords,

I am contacting you regarding a request that has been concerning numismatics and many Americans who enjoy Circulating US coins.

I propose a change in our "pocket" change overall, to update us coinage from it's current design.

To begin, the current design (Obverse) US 1 cent piece, otherwise known as "The penny" has been circulating for 101 years. Do not get me wrong, we all enjoy the portrait of Lincoln on the obverse, but the Mint has continually been updating the reverse and neglecting the obverse.

Next the US 5 cent piece otherwise known as "The Nickel" has been in circulation since 1938, it has been the same design for 72 years, now we have since changed the reverse and updated the obverse. But still we want a new nickel. A new idea not a changed portrait.

The last concern is the US 10 Cent piece otherwise known as "The Dime" it has been the same unchanged design for 64 years.

I would love the opportunity to commission some new designs for coinage from a local community (Nationwide) of coin collectors and enthusiasts from a quite popular website known as Cointalk.com (I am only a member, but anyone can post.)

If you would grant me this honor, I would post a forum on this website (as well as others of the same nature) and many people would design a new set of coinage for the 21st century, we would vote on it and relay it to you to present to congress.

Now I know this is not a matter of high importance, however to many Americans it means a new opportunity to take part in a well needed change in our coinage once and for all.

Mrs. Congresswoman would you please allow me this opportunity and promise to propose our designs to Congress
to allow Americans the right to take part in updating our coinage for the first time in nearly a century.

Please respond accordingly,

Thank you,
Taylor A. Lasch

We have spent indefinite hours collecting signatures of our fellow Americans whom have began supporting our petition, please understand all we want is the opportunity to update our circulating currency based off a nationwide vote of the best design of new currency. Open to anyone who wants to submit their designs.
Once we have collected these e-signatures, we will then submit them to you as well as the original artwork designed by our citizens and the best ones voted on by us.
All we request of you, honorable members of congress is a simple vote, yea or nay
