The city council of Mission Viejo, Ca has approved the requests of two senior communities to hire exterminators to kill wild rabbits. The rabbits are said to be eating plants and destroying landscaping and to pose a health hazard.
Please help save these beautiful wild rabbits, who are being inhumanely murdered!
Shooting and killing are actually prohibited in the community. But as a result of the city council's approval, the exterminators are allowed to shoot and kill wild rabbits using pellet guns, as a form of extermination.
Not all the community's agree with the decision to exterminate the rabbits. According to one resident, the rabbit issue has never been on the agenda or newsletter of the homeowners association board agenda or in a newsletter.
There are other, non-lethal methods to control the rabbit population and to keep them from eating plants. The Mission Viego city council should look into these options and not just proceed with shooting rabbits!
