While the death of Bob Cassilly, founder of the City Musuem and creator of Turtle park, has been officially ruled an accident, Bobs widow, Giovanna Cassilly, and attorney, Albert Watkins, have been working extensively to get St.louis County Police to reopen Bobs investigation as a potential homicide. You can support this reopening by clicking here http://www.thepetitionsite.com/996/442/491/investigate-now-justice-for-bob-cassilly/
Bob Cassilly had a magnificently beautiful mind and he was expressing his ideas in creations and molds for hundreds of people to see and explore. It is truly a tragedy that his solo project, 55 acre Cementland, is slowly coming to an end year after year because of the constant threat of theft and arson. Not only that, but Cementland was estimated to be completed in 2012 but unfortunatly St.louis County Police claimed Bobs 32,585-pound bulldozer "accidentally" rolled over with him in it Semtember of 2011.In addition to this a news report in October of 2016 had claimed that physician, Dr. Arthur Combs, had discovered that Bob Cassillys death could not have been an accident.
Bob Cassillys death was follwed by theft and arson starting on August 22nd of 2014. A fire ablazed a 40,000 square foot building that unfortunatly claimed many of the left over remains of Bobs artwork and creations. This fire was investigated by St.louis County Police as well as Bobs death. It was believed that St.louis County Police investigated this fire at a minimal, never interviewing Giovanna, so Giovanna Cassilly took an extra step to be sure this fire was not natural. She hired attorny, Albert Watkins, who then hired fire inspector, John L. Scheper. Scheper claimed in a two-page report that this fire was no accident. A similar incident occured December 9th of 2016 when anothor fire ablazed inside of one of Bobs warehouses. Unfortunatly this fire cuased the roof of the warehouse to cave in and it also burned a majority of what still remains of Bobs artworks, sculptures, and molds leaving it in a charred shell.
I believe that it is only right for St.louis county homicide task force to reopen the investigation for Bobs justice. The citizens of St.louis should all be coming together for justice for Bob also because he caused all of us to come together through his creation of the City Museum and Turtle Park. As much as we all have enjoyed his mastermind creations, we should all be able to pay respect to Bob by, not only coming to an honest conclusion of Bobs death, but by finishing Cementland.
It has been 6 years since the passing of Bob in 2011 and the land is only deteriorating and being destroyed, but there are people that still visit the unfinished park. There are still people who find the intriguing land and artwork worthwhile and people that believe that this case is a mystery that should no go unsolved.
People still care and more and more people will continue to learn and spread Bobs legacy. To prove that the people still care I am looking to have 2,000 people sign this petition. Not only that but I am hoping to gather volunteers to help contribute artwork and also clean up Cementland in the spirit of Bob. I believe that this is well above possible with the community's support.
