Demand an End to Motor Vehicle Accidents, Injuries, & Deaths on Butterfield Road

The stretch of Butterfield Road that spans from Eola to Farnsworth is a hot spot for motor vehicle accidents. There are no stop lights or street lights, low visibility, and a speed limit of 50 mph. The turn onto Butterfield Road from DuPage Parkway is a particularly risky spot and is already marked with a cross from a motorcycle accident casualty. On 10/19/18, a young newlywed couple was t-boned by a car going 50 mph as a result of poor visibility as they turned out onto Butterfield which resulted in severe injuries including a broken neck, arms, and pelvis. Residents are concerned for their safety and demand that a traffic light be installed at Butterfield Road and DuPage Parkway to prevent future fatalities and injuries.
