DeSantis didn't make any statements addressing Florida's COVID surge while the state was setting new infection and death records throughout the country in late 2021, forcing even the Mayor of Orange County to ask "where is Ron DeSantis now? during a COVID briefing.

Governor DeSantis forced local legislatures to fend for themselves during the Omicron surge that caused high transmission in every state across the country. And even still, testing sites have received no extra assistance despite DeSantis' New Year return proclaiming Florida as the freest state (and all thanks to his pandemic negligence!)
It is ridiculous that DeSantis can abandon the people he serves in a time like this, for any reason.
