Petition to change the way women are represented in advertisements

In our society, we typically see women objectified and stereotyped in all kinds of advertisements. We purchase products that are advertised using sexist ideas and misrepresentations of females, and in doing so we provide financial and social support to companies that blatantly degrade women.
We want to change these ad campaigns and instead implement new campaigns that are not biased and not disrespectful towards anyone. This petition calls for a boycott of all products that are featured in sexist advertisements, in an effort to get the companies' attention. If we do not speak up and demand a change in the way things are advertised and the way women are portrayed, we will be stuck in a society where women believe their only value and role is to be beautiful, and men will believe this too. Female consumers of these ads will continue to feel devalued and strive to meet beauty standards that are impossible to meet, and men will have unrealistic expectations of how women should look and act.
If we are successful with this petition and able to change the way women are portrayed, we will change society's norms and promote gender equality in society. We will teach women that they are more than sexual objects and more than the way they look, and we will teach men the same idea. However, if we do not take action, women will continue to be oppressed and dehumanized, and our society will be stuck believing in ancient ideals. With this petition and its supporters, we can force companies to alter their campaigns and promote new and progressive ideals that are positive towards both genders.
