Brazil, do "NOT" build any Dams at Tapajós' River and instead seek other renewable energy sources

Brazil has announced to build a new hydroelectric dam at the Tapajós river. Not only could this lead to more deforestation, of which I made a petition about earlier. But dams are also responsible for disrupting fish migration, nutrient cycling for the Earth and could affect the livlihoods of the Native Tribes of Brazil.

This is not the only dam that threatens the environment as Brazil has been pushing the construction of the Belo Monte Dam, considered to be the third largest dam in the world, of which there has been significant opposition against the project, not the least of which is Raoni Metuktire

Not only are dams considered expensive and not worth to build, according NY Times which is an opinion. But dams built on tropical rivers can also be a cause for Greenhouse Gas emissions such as Methane.

I urge Brazil to seek new sources of power that is more beneficial and environmentally friendly then these dams.
