The compactor attracts rats which is a health hazard to people taking out the trash and leaving the trash on your porch is too, but Management is unhappy with both; so we apartment dwellers and citizens are petitioning to ask for another container to be provided to correct this unfortunate and unsafe and unhealthy situation. Help show Apartment Management that issues can be resolved better with problem mediation than with bullying residents. You pay a fee to have this waste receptical available, functioning, every single time you need it. Now some residents are being threatened with fines for not having a place to put their trash! If you leave it outside the fenced area, you're fined, if you open the door to find it overfilled so leave the trash on your porch, you are not assisted, no, once more, you may be FINED.
The residents at Lafayette Square Apt. Complex are concerned over the strong-armed method Management is using to squash complaints about the trash compactor which is not big enough for this complex, siting threats of fines for leaving trash bags on your porches, or outside an area clearly too small to achieve the goal of a clean area, free of rats,mice,possums,racoons and nutreas near the compactor. Residents are paying a fee in order for the facility to be available at any time in which the resident needs to dispose of trash in order to keep a clean and healthy environment in which to live and would like to see this goal achieved in a friendly and considerate way.
