Preserve the Future of the Illinois State Youth Leaders and the Illinois State Scholarship Tour
The United States Bowling Congress (USBC) has decided that the Illinois State Youth Leaders (ISYL) must merge with the Illinois State Boards and is no longer a separate entity. When that merger happens, the IL USBC will make a decision that will affect the ISYL, as it is known to us now, and furthermore, affect the Illinois State Scholarship Tour (ISST). It has been discussed that one, of three choices will be made; (One) - After the merger, the ISYL will continue to keep their banking and operations the same, with both ISYL and ISST, in order to continue to run these tournaments as smoothly and efficiently as possible with the future of all of the bowlers in mind. (Two) - The ISYL must relinquish ALL accrued funds to the State Board. All banking would now be in the State Board's control, and may or may not be used toward the ISYL. (Three) - The ISYL must relinquish ALL accrued funds to the State Board that pertains to the ISYL but may keep funds related to ISST, operating it on it's own, with no promise of funding at all from IL USBC, and the ISYL may or may not be funding the ISST. The ISST would be operating on funds sourced solely from that of the participants and unassigned funds that were divided from ISYL; forcing them to create a new means of funding.
The ISYL does play an important part in a young bowler's life, as it provides opportunities of both social and athletic advancement. The ISST provides a competitive environment and rewards of scholarship dollars, which fuel the participants' to a higher level of the sport and to dream of what their future can hold.
As Illinois State Youth Leaders, we are hoping the IL USBC makes either the first or third decision, which would allow us to have some control over our money and how we run the ISST. With this petition, we are hoping to show the IL USBC that the Illinois Bowling Community wants the ISST tournaments and the Illinois State Youth Leaders to be run the same way they have for the past 32 years. Please sign this petition in support of either option one or three, as that is what would support the ISST tournaments and Illinois State Youth Leaders the best. Please share this as well, because we want to get as much support as possible to hopefully influence the decision of the IL USBC.
Thank you, the Illinois State Youth Leaders.
