Demand NYPD Union Take Down Photos Shaming The Homeless

The New York Police Department has a Flickr account that is known for various photos but on their account, they have been posting photos of homeless individuals with the intent of making jokes about them.

It is disturbing that the NYPD is shaming the city's poor and downtrodden by boastfully posting photos of them on their Flickr account.

The NYPD's Sergeant Benevolent Association posted 241 photos just last week of these poor people and not only that, but adding funny inappropriate captions. One photo of a man sleeping on the sidewalk reads "bed and breakfast." Another photo is captioned "progressive agenda."

The NYPD is supposed to serve and protect, not humiliate and shame.  Why not try to offer these unfortunate beings help and assistance rather than take photos of them to ridicule them and make fun of their situation?

We are demanding that you stop taking photos of the homeless people in NYC and posting them on your Flickr account. Remove all photos from that account intended to shame or humiliate the unfortunate citizens that you are actually supposed to serve and protect.

Sergeants Benevolent Association of the New York Police Department – We are demanding that you stop taking photos of the homeless people in NYC and posting them on your Flickr account.  Remove all photos from that account that boasts, shame and humiliate the unfortunate citizens that you are actually supposed to serve and protect.  Instead of helping them, offering them a hand and protecting them, you take photos of them and then make fun of their unfortunate situations.  Remove these photos from Flickr and stop this humiliating practice!
