City Animals Shelters & Private Rescue Groups Not Warning People About Mammary Cancer

The Humane Society of the U.S. and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in NYC are doing the right thing by informing the public as to all three reasons to spay---not only overpopulation but additionally the prevention of mammary tumors which can invade the lungs and kill and uterine infections which can also be fatal. All city animal shelters and all private pet rescue groups in America must rise to the same standard of complete information about spay as these two top tier national leadership groups have correctly done. Failure to mention spay for mammary cancer prevention and infections is costing lives, as many pets are obtained outside a mandatory spay to adopt framework. It should be state law in all 50 states that prevention of mammary cancer and infections must be mentioned every time rescue groups and city animal shelters mention spay for overpopulation. City animals shelters must warn about these risks specifically not vaguely ("health problems") in their annual mailings to city residents! Not more than one rescue group in five across Texas is as of January 2019 warning about "not spayed = more mammary tumors and infections." This is disappointing and I will be contacting most of them to ask they provide people with complete spay info. Others in all 50 States should insist their city animal shelters and private rescue groups must warn about cancer and infections from not being spayed.
