With Logan being that last film for Hugh Jackman as the Wolverine, the debate has once again risen on who can take the place of him in the next installments.
The bar was set high after Jackman's portrayal of the role, but there will have to be another.
The character is too profitable for the studios to NOT have that character.
My choice, I still choose Shia LaBeouf.
Most people see that choice and that's it's obscure, but I've thought it out.
Shia absolutely can act, and given the right material and direction, he's a damn good actor (Charlie Countryman, Fury).
He recently put on some muslce, but he could easily put on more, exactly like Hugh Jackman did, who wasn't insanely muscular in the beginning.
He's the appropriate height, he's got the look..but...the one obstacle is his voice.
But there's a solution there as well.
He can work on developing a voice for the character (like Heath Ledger who was even unrecognizable in his voice as the Joker),or dub him with someone deeper.
I'd prefer he work on a voice, but people's voiced are dubbed frequently over certain characters.
I'd choose Shia, all the way.
Honestly, I can't think of anyone better, and the main, if not only obstacle is developing a voice for the character, which he CAN do.
Look at the first image and imagine him running with his claws out, ready to kill.
Some have suggested Tom Hardy, and while Hardy may be my favorite actor, I just don't see him in the role, nor do I see him even WANTING the role.
