Stop stealing from the dead

As the social security law is now written, no Social Security money is paid in the month of the recipients death, even if they die five minutes before the end of the month. Considering most people on Social Security die after a lengthy illness, giving up that money is a real hardship. This law should be changed. My wife died 5 days before the end of the month with hundreds of dollars in medical co-pays. I feel she had earned 25/30 of that SS payment. The law should be changed so the last payment should be prorated to the number of days in that last month the recipient survived.
