For years now, citizens on our secondary roads in Victoria County, Nova Scotia have been given the run-around when it comes to maintenance on the secondary roads leading to their properties. Services that others take for granted like the mail and newspaper are denied, as these entities simply refuse to travel over the unkept roads. Every time a request is made to have the road graded or repairs made, the excuses come ten-fold. Budget is usually in their top 3, whether in the beginning of their fiscal year, in the middle, or, at the end. It sounds to me they need a better person in charge of the finances, as this has been happening for all of us for the last 5 decades, at least. As such, I encourage everyone concerned to get on board and sign this petition in hopes that our requests no longer fall on deaf ears. Amendment to petition: I was just informed that our local government officials will not accept any form of online petition. Getting signage for all of our secondary roads would be a massive undertaking. As such, I encourage other citizens in different parts of the county to do the same as myself and start a petition of their own. As a collective, we can make a difference.
