Allergic reactions to PPD, a chemical found in hair dyes are on the rise, many cases are severe and needless deaths have occurred while others have suffered permanent health issues from the use of these products.  According to severalwebsites PPD is not FDA approved for use on the skin. The scalp, ears , mech, shoulders, hands and arms are at risk. This chemical is absorbed in to the body through the scalp and for those who are allergic the body starts producing mass amounts of histamine in protest and attacks the immune system. Severe hives, chemical burns, blindness, hair loss, coma, death have been linked. There is a higher risk of air dressers or Lupus and some lymphomas due to PPD and othercu tested cosmetic chemicals.  Cosmetic companies need to be held accountable and should be regulated.

I recently suffered an allergic reaction to hair dye. l'Oreal to be exact. I suffered chemical burns on my face, ears and neck. The fesh just peeled off by lyres leaving ody fluid oozing from my body and crusting in my hair. Within a wek I had broken out in severe hives tat blistered all over mychest, arms, trunk, legs and chest. Not sure if it was a different cause I googled air dye allergies and was astonished at what I saw and read. Hair dye allergies are very prevelant. Horror stories one after the other. Although my Dermatoligist sas my case is severe and reuse of air dye with PPD could very well end tragically for me I realized from all the stories thy I indeed have an angel onnot shoulder. On steroid therapy with topical creams. No promise yet as to my immune system.
